I was lucky enough to photograph the wedding of two more close friends, my former roommate Lauren and her fantastic husband Tommy! Remember their engagement photos? They had a beautiful wedding at an old estate in Saugatuck, Michigan. The day was perfect, the food was incredible, the setting was gorgeous, and we got to hang out with our dear friends all day! Could it get any better?
Lauren is super crafty and creative, and she did an amazing job putting together everything for the wedding (including the invitations). Tommy’s family is Japanese, and Lauren incorporated his heritage by hand-folding 1,000 origami cranes in the months leading up to the wedding. It’s a Japanese tradition meant to bring a thousand years of happiness and prosperity to the couple, and it also made a beautiful addition to the decor! She must have gotten her knack for crafting from her mom, who hand-beaded Lauren’s sash and made her an incredible bouquet out of vintage pins and brooches. The handmade touches made everything feel really personal and beautiful!
Congratulations again Lauren and Tommy, we wish you a thousand years of happiness!
