In the midst of finishing up their Ph.D’s and writing their dissertations, Katia and Alejandro somehow managed to plan a really incredible wedding! The ceremony was at the MIT Chapel, and the reception was at what used to be the gymnasium for the Radcliffe Institute.
I was so touched by both Katia and Alejandro’s families at this wedding – so many people traveled from as far away as Paris, Venezuela, and Bulgaria to celebrate their wedding, and everyone was unified (despite language and culture barriers) in their love and support for Katia and Alejandro. It was so sweet, and everyone seemed to have a really great time – jet lag or no jet lag!
They added lots of personal cultural touches to the day, from having readings in both english and spanish to handing out drinks and having a toast at the ceremony after their first kiss! Here are a few of my favorite photos. Enjoy!
The parents requested a “nineteenth century family photo.” They had a great sense of humor!
